Assisted Use
Facility staff provides assistance with grid selection, negative staining, vitrification, grid clipping, grid storage, grid screening, data collection, and data processing.
Authorized independent use is granted separately for each piece of equipment and instrumentation. No user will be fully unassisted for microscope sessions, and even authorized independent users will be billed for assisted hours as appropriate. For example, all users, whether authorized independent users or not, will require staff assistance for loading grids onto the microscope.
We have open office hours every week where you can discuss general questions, potential project ideas, data processing questions, troubleshooting, and everything in between. We are also available to schedule individual consultations and meetings by request.
